Porcelain Inlays/Onlays

Our dental office offers two specific types of dental fillings: porcelain inlays and porcelain onlays. These same-day fillings are used to replace your decayed tooth. Thanks to CAD CAM technology, where digital impression (scan) is taken and uploaded into a computer, and special software then creates and designs a virtual restoration. This virtual data is then sent to a milling machine that carves a filling out of a solid block of ceramic. After which the surface of the filling is fired with stain and glazes. Finally, the filling is adjusted in the patients mouth and cemented into place.

Both types of fillings are extremely durable and last longer than traditional metal fillings. Materials used for porcelain inlays/onlays are designed to match the natural color of your tooth. Not only do they help retain the original aesthetics and character of the tooth, they also provide strength to avoid future fractures by increasing resistance.
